How to clean fabric headboard?

meoldchina, Feb 19, 7:48pm
I have a fabric headboard in my Motorhome and it has become marked where we have been leaning up against it. Can you recommend a cleaning product or method of cleaning? The fabric appears to be heavy cotton, but I can’t be sure.

I'd try gentle application of a spray fabric cleaner first. Check the can to see it's suitable for cotton and similar fabrics, and try out on a small piece on the side rather than centre.
if it is cotton it's able to be washed, or rather dabbed with warm soapy water then blotted with a towel. again you could experiment but don't soak it and stop if you see the colour is running

I use Dixons carpet cleaner. Mix it with warm water equal parts and brush on with a nail brush then dry off with a clean towel. I have had fantastic results with this product. Recently I cleaned my neighbours brocade chairs which were black up by the headrests now they are the same colour as the brocade on the rest of the chairs

Little green machine.

I second Dixon's carpet shampoo. I have used it for absolute years and actually I didn't know you could still buy it. I have cleaned coffee that Mr Nobody spilled and left behind the chair. I just put it neat on a microfibre cloth and rubbed it over. The coffee was instantly gone. It is the best stuff for all sorts like that and I wouldn't be without it. Better than all these new and wonderful cleaners.

Thank you all for your suggestions, though I am not sure what “little green machine” you are recommending, Gabbysnana.
