How to clean inside of toaster?

sooby, May 31, 5:35am
hi guys,

She who must be obeyed pointed out the inside of our toaster isn't looking as clean as it should, with crumb residue sticking to the metal the bread sits on while it toasts. How do we clean this hard to reach place? Doesn't seem to be a way to take apart toaster easily, altho crumb tray does slide out, so access to top & bottom of rack is possible.

I thought of hitting it with compressed air & see how much flies off, as missus isn't keen on harsh chemicals.

Does anyone have any tips?

Appreciate any ideas, thanks!

Most definitely!

Looking at that do you butter the bread before you toast it?

Got FlyBuys?
Ditch it.

cheers guys.

Mothergoose - you reckon? Apparently I do a 'man clean' which for some reason is not good enough. that's why I asked here, hoping the big guns can offer advice.

dastedly - I guess we toast enough frozen bread for moisture to accumulate. I hadn't thought of pre-buttering bread - maybe you are on to something!

Thats what makes your toast tasty!

lick it clean

Take it apart, that is easiest now it's encrusted.
I vacuum my toaster when I do the floors. it gets all those trapped bits out.

Mate. you can't be serious. I just looked in my toaster and I can't see one bit of chrome. It's all burnt. That's what happens when things are heated repeatedly. I even do hash browns in mine. I just empty the crumb tray so the oil from the hash browns doesn't ignite them

Haha, I remember vividly at a "Book a Bach" my daughter was using the toaster and before the toast was ready a massive cockroach staggered over the top of the blardy hot toaster and wandered off. No wonder they survive nuclear blasts! Daughter didn't know at the time so I discreetly disposed of it to avoid flying stuff all round the kitchen.

I would tell She who must be obeyed to clean it her self if shes not happy with your cleaning,
And if that don't work i would take it outside and tell her to watch how you clean it so she can do it next time.
Then smash it up with the biggest hammer you got
Problem sorted

Plug it in to get it hot, then plunge it into hot water in the sink.

Compressed air doesn't usually involve harsh chemicals. Toss it. Buy her a bright pink one for her birthday. She'll adore you for it.

Stick a knife in it to clean it. Darwinism will sort out whether the plug is in or out

I'm still getting over the trauma of cleaning mine and realising it had been visited by a nasty little rodent. eww.????

Steam clean it first, then into the microwave to dry it.

JUST kidding

$20 new toaster at Briscoes

tessnjess, Jun 1, 10:03pm
Why bother? Once the toast's in there you can't see it, and the heat kills any bugs she may think are there.

Why bother? Once the toast's in there you can't see it. Heat will kill the bugs just like it did for Noah when he had it - what else matters? .
