Right so a couple months ago we put glass mosiac tiles up. just have to get around to grouting them. Already have the grouting powder ready to mix up. Any tips when grouting!

Wear glovesand a mask- do not inhale the grout powder it's toxic.

Start with powder in your bucket and add water until you get the consistency right, you want the grout like a firm plaster so it compresses nicely into the joints when your working it on the tiles, too soft and it wont compress properly, too dry and it will be awkward to work in.As above, wear gloves when using it as it wreaks havoc on your skin. And a dust mask when your mixing - silica is nasty stuff. Wait until a dryish looking haze forms on the face of your tiles before you sponge off, if its too soft when you start cleaning you might pull too much back out of the joints leaving them hollow looking. Keep your sponge damp, not wet, and take wipes at 45 degree angle to your grout joints. Diluted white vinegar is awesome at removing any secondary grout haze left behind easily. Good luck. Our invoice is in the mail ;)

And take your time. Grouting isn't a fast process, and the sponging and cleaning of the tiles needs total concentration(mosaicer here).

I would imagine inhaling any powder wouldnt do you much good.

Most grouts dry in 4 to 6 hours, depends on ambient temp. Take your time between applying and spongeing to allow grout to firm a little.

its not as scary as it seems, mix powder with water until toothpaste consistency, apply with grout float, and wipe excess off tiles

wanted to know how to make coasters with my levfoter tile! Just wanted to add that if you are using the glass tile make sure you buy UNSANDED grout so it wont scratch the tile, great idea with the cork as it will absorb water I was wondering what to use!
