Anyone have tips for grafting success?

I'm going to try my hand at grafting. I've got some meyer lemons I've grown from cuttings and want to graft my delicious (but name forgotton) mandarin onto them. I also want to graft my sister's delicious seedling peach onto blackboy peach seedlings.
I've been googling and have a grasp of the theory, but would appreciate any handy hints from grafting gurus

most of the orchard peaches are budded. Look that up. Pretty easy to do with timing being the important thing.

I thought that budding looked harder, but will have another look.

Thats fantastic - I love that he's planting them in public places, too

I understand you graft in spring and bud in summer. I plan to try both. If the first doesn't work I'll probably try again, with the same or similar technique, assuming I'm trying to do it too early. Later I'll try the budding. I planted peach/nectarine/plum stones and will graft on the resulting seedling trees. Good luck!
