What does it mean if your hot water is coming out of the long pipe on the roof. Not gushing out but quite consistantly overflowing like a tap on slow. Water is not boiling so its not that.

You have to adjust the valve that allows this

ajax valve issue need to get plumber keep invoice/receipt as you can claim back the water loss either through watercare or landlord as happened to us. but def get it checked as power will skyrocket and so will water and accordingly wastewater

It probably means there is grit or dirt under the ajax valve washer and is an easy DIY if you are competent and willing to fix. Or the washer maybe worn out, either way not a biggie

You really need to get it sorted if you do not want huge power bills. When water discharges like this it means your hot water is constantly heating and that becomes expensive. It could also be that your thermostat is past it use by date and needs replacing. Still not a biggie.

If it is coming off the roof it wont/shouldnt be entering the wastewater system.

The Ajax valve could be adjusted by turning the screw at the bottom anti-clockwise until the water stops.
If that doesn't work the valve may need a new diaphragm which is only about $15, but the valve needs to be removed with the water turned off. That's probably not a job for the average person as you'd need thread tape and spanners and a screwdriver.
