The regulations !
Limits for LPG indoors
The typical portable domestic LPG cylinder holds 9 kg. This is
the largest cylinder you are allowed to have inside your home.
If you live in a detached house or an attached house up to
three storeys, you are limited to two 9 kg cylinders per dwelling.
If you live in an attached dwelling of more than three
storeys, for example an apartment building, you are limited
to one 9 kg cylinder.

90 kgs? Do you mean a gas weight of 45 kgs per cylinder? Plus the cylinder weight? Or two 45s equal 90kgs?

You can now get 90 kg cylinders (120 for that matter). They are typically refilled "in-situ".

I`ve seen a few 136 kg tanks.

Where abouts on bottles does it have expiry date ? Does petrol stations still refill bottles I thought they were swap a bottle now ?

planespotterhvn, Nov 1, 11:58pm
Expiry date is calculated 10 years from the test date. It and a whole lot of info is stamped on the collar surrounding the valve.

They still refill and it is cheaper than swapping unless your bottle is expired and then swapping is a good option.

Not all service stations fill Lpg. You have to shop around to find one that does it. Challenge in Chc does one of the cheapest fills at $24.90.

Oh I get it now! Some people are treating the date as an expiry date. And swapping their bottle full of gas because they think the gas has expired!
Like biscuits with a best before date. It does not mean they are expired.
The latest date (there may be several) is the last test date. The bottle must not be refilled after TEN years from this date. But you can use up all the gas until the bottle is empty.

Rumours that people are taking bottles to the dump with dates like 10-@-14 or 02-¥-09. These gas cylinders are under 10 years from this date so are still serviceable for many more years. The first date example revealed that the cylinder is only 13 months old from brand new yet was dumped half full of gas!

we live in a throw away society. people move house and just take all the old unused stuff to the dump because it's easier that sorting it or dealing with it. such a shame!
