How can I tell if they are ripe, There are prickles on their skins, and a bit yellow on underside. Do not want to pick too early. They nare looking pretty good.

They're ripe now at my place. I just pick them at the right size.

Try one and see. The underside won't colour if in shade. Get in quick, before you know it they'll be marrows!

yellow is getting too mature, just pick when they are a reasonable size.

Apple cucumbers ? Fist size and they are good to go.
