How to drain a concrete slab?

beachboy61, May 25, 6:58am
I've got an area 8mx5m covered with an old 100mm thick FLAT concrete slab that has depressions causing the whole area to pond water after heavy rain. The perimeter of this slab has concrete around it. There are no drains close.
I was thinking of coring say 4 number 75mm holes through the slab depressions then drilling a 75mm hole a metre deep into the soil below to allow the water to escape?
Any other ideas?

You could hire a concrete cutting saw, and cut some slots from middle to outer edge.

How high is the concrete that surrounds it ?
Is it possible to fill this area in with new concrete to a drain-able level ?

Drain holes might work; it will depend on the soil below moisture levels.

Seal the perimeter? We are having to look at sealing part of our basement garage after it leaked between slab and CCW.

Find lowest level and cut channel to that?

The concrete around the slab is at the same level. Its unlikely that would be possible to fill with new concrete to give a drain-able level.
No we can't seal the perimeter, maybe have to cut a channel to external edge and fill with scoria and flow to grass on external edge.
