Clay drain pipe cutting

kenw1, Jan 25, 7:44pm
Bit of a drama this morning a clay drain pipe fractured and the sump/inlet broke away.

Have got it fixed a quick trip to our friendly hardware store had all the bits.

But, I would like to tidy up the end of the broken pipe, the whole thing needs about 100mm cutting off the end to give a clean flush end.

Whats the best way? was thinking a masonry disc in an angle grinder and take it steady? Not enough room to swing to much in the way of anything else.

Thanks

you answered your own question, and probably have gone ahead and done that way anyhow.

No we haven't actually, these clay pipes scare the wotsit out of me, always frightened they will crack further up.

So a masonry disc is the right way?

Always happens on a bank holiday.

Diamond discs are good too, have many uses, would do that neatly, less dust (thin cut);
you can also wet it while cutting to avoid dust.

not sure, but don??

Yes you don't need a plumber - You need a Drainlayer instead.
