Have you bought one that isn't too dear and is small with great suction.

I bought a Nilfisk Coupe Neo a few months back for $135.00. Small and with the best suction I have ever experienced in a vacuum cleaner ( and I clean for a job and use diff brands every day) Has a hepa filter and is bagged. It is marvelous.

I bought a Dyson animal stick vacuum recently. I know they are dear but it was advertised at Farmers at 25% off and I asked Noel Leemings if they would price match, so I got Fly Buys too. It was about $480 We have a 243 sq metre house and central vac. I find the long hose is a PITA and now only do battle with it when I am going to do a big vacuum job. The Stick vacuum has brilliant suction and my only complaint is the battery life of about 20 min. It takes 3.5 hours to charge
