I have some brass that needs cleaned up. What is the best way to do this, or best product to use please?

Scotch bright/abrasive pad with brasso. When down to clean metal, then brasso with soft rags until polished.

I bought autosol from mitre 10 also known as chrome glam man what a product.

Toothpaste and damp cotton rag

Brasso. Soft cloth. Elbow grease. Get these together on your item.

worstershire sauce works a treat.

Mix white vinegar and salt and wipe on. After that polish with Brasso or autosol.
Don't use coarse abrasives.

Brass-brite. Wipe on, polish off, no hard rubbing needed. Especially if your brass item is engraved and you don't want to use anything abrasive. But a word of warning: if you are doing a big piece, do it in stages as you can't let the brass-brite lotion dry on.

I wouldn't use an abrasive pad, it will mark the brass, Use a soft cloth to apply, and a soft cloth to shine with

Brasso and elbow grease.

I would, depending on how thick/old the oxide/verdigris layer is. Which the OP failed to specify.
