What to clean a concret birdbath with?

30 seconds or the like, well scrubbed and then well rinsed, or you could waterblast it with one of the lower pressure nozzles to avoid damaging the surface.

I have an old stainless steel preserving pan I leave outside for animals to drink from which I have to scrub out every couple of weeks because it gets gungy.

When mine gets grubby, green, brown or yukky, I give it a good scrub out with ordinary bleach. I like to soak it for a while where nothing can get at it. Then I scrub the bleach out, rinse well and refill.
You can't stop it, I'm afraid, because it's a natural byprodouct of standing water and bird dirt.

I have the same and just hose off the green algae then fill with water and Janola or Budget bleach and leave to kill spores. Never had birds drink it at that stage but cover if worried. When clean hose off and fill with fresh water.

Dishwash detergent, warm water (optional) and scrubbing brush. You'll need to scrub it out regularly to keep the algae away. Otherwise, just change the water every day, and ignore the algae.
I use a terracotta pot dish (pot base), and change the water completely every day or so. Algae will still grow, but so long as the bird poo is flushed away, a bit of algae is fine. Yes, birds WILL poo in their bath water, and then drink it. They're disgusting that way.

It's the birds area let them keep it clean! They are worse than Teenagers!

We painted ours. Much easier to keep clean. The algae can't get into the concrete.
