are these ok for rose mulch

samanya, Sep 15, 4:27pm
Apparently they are OK.
If you Google, you'll find that there are a couple of 'de bunkers' but nothing to say they will harm your roses. so I'd go for it.

I put mine in the compost & they eventually go on the roses.

Wild Bean has little bins where they stash the grounds that are free to take-away for gardens

I use grounds on my lawn with good success :)

And I don't use grounds on my lawn with good success!

A bit now and then is fine, but if you're going to be using lots of coffee grounds regularly, like commercial coffee shop quantities every day, I'd compost it first.

Someone posted a link recently to a very thorough looking study which showed coffee grounds severely inhibit vege plant growth. Good for stopping weeds then. I'd be cautious.

We used to throw coffee beans out over a rose bed, on one in particular & over the summer one day the plant just keeled over sideways! Don't know if we overdid the dose or not, but might be better to spread around several roses & not the same one all the time!

I went to an open home once with a large garden that smelled of coffee, apparently they used it for mulch. Can't remember how the garden looked but I do remember the smell!

I put mine in my worm farm.

I've used it on the indoor plants I've got & both looked better afterwards. a fern & a succulent - both about 20yrs old.
