I have one of the old rotary clotheslines and the line seems to be getting brittle and has snapped in a couple of places. Can you just buy the line and re-line the whole thing? if so, just from a standard hardware shop?

yes you can but dont buy cheap replacement line. You do not need the most expensive but this is just another example of getting what you pay for. Buy one with wire in the middle not just cheapo plastic.

The best clothes line I've ever had was double twisted electric fence wire. Doesn't stretch, and doesn't wear and can be bought from any farm supplies store.
Hammer Hardware have great quality line we recently purchased by the metre .
