Polished concrete floors.

Pros and cons please, thinking about lifting old tiles and getting the concrete polished in kitchen, laundry areas. Not sure what is involved, big mess, lots of dust!

flag it, will cost a fortune and most likely screw things up around the edges and doorways etc. if the tiles are bad, pull them up and re-tile.
Very messy work polishing.

when we do this with a new house the concrete is placedin such a wayas to minimise segregation , it is also cut and cured to minimise cracking and the slab will be free of walls and kitchen units getting in the way of the polisher .you wont get this with an existing slab , with the finished look unknown
