Hi,is it a carpet mat! if so you can get the edges done, google carpet edging.Or as I have done, got some clear nylon (off hubbys fishing reel) and hand sewn along the edge to hold it all together, works atreat.

Needle I use is metal about 10cm long,maybe you should try the glue as suggested by lilyfield.

go to a carpet supplier, take an empty jar with you . he might let you have a bit for bugger all.
