I have an older BBQ that is still in great nick but I lost the hose and regulator. So I bought a new regulator and hose but the threads do not fit. Is it ok to just get a thread adapter or is there some trick to this sort of thing!

I had trouble matching up things on an old BBQ so contacted the local plumber/gas fitter. No problem to him.

Is it the connection from the bbq to the hose itself that's the problem!
We had to replace a hose/regulator recently and only found when changing them out the fitting on the bbq did not match the new hose - an 'older bbq' problem!
Took it to a gas fitters who put a new connector on.Total cost was $16.

The thread on the new regulator hose is a different size from the one on the BBQ. Great to hear, I will go to the plumbing merchant and see what they have to reduce the thread down.

Bunnings sell the lines made up, or a carvan shop

I already have the regulator and hose but the thread on the pipe was different to the one on the BBQ.
Thanks for all the help I went to plumbing merchant today and they sorted me out with the correct adapters to hook it up for under $10. Will hook it up on the weekend and test it to make sure no leaks.
