Help with carpet and sliding door guides please

looks like you have plenty of clearance for the gide and groove so i would fix gide on top of carpet, if there is plenty of holding power with the screws they should pull the gide down into the carpet

I too would fit them on top of the carpet, just when you screw them back down, use a hand screwdriver, If you use an electric one,the screws may catch a thread and ''unzip'' your new carpet in the twinkling of an eye !

If you screw them directly to the carpet you run the risk of the guide tipping, then the door won't track properly. Better to fit them to a small block

Cheers guys, appreciate it heaps! :)

the guide will not tip if screwed down tight on the carpet, the carpet will compress so no block is needed, and if block is used it will set the guide up to high and cause it to catch the door,a block also looks a bit uggly.

cut piece of hardboard or chipboard to same size as glide and fit.then no problem.simple
