Cost of laying a vinyl floor?

I have a 2.5m X 5.1m kitchen with a new chipboard floor. It's currently an totally empty room (no units etc). I require new vinyl floor laid. There are no skirting boards and these will be added after the floor and then kitchen is installed.
To my mind installation is a quick sand of joints fill nail/screw holes, vacuum, put down $20 of compound/glue, lay vinyl and trim edges. No edge bars are required and there are no obstructions as I explained to contractors.
Why have I been quoted $480+gst plus the vinyl (the cheapest quote)to do this, what am I missing!

I am guessing the chip board will either need an overlay of hardboard or a screed of matrix before the vinyl is laid.

If you skimp of the floor preparation you will get a poor finish.Like everything preparation is the key to a good job.

I just used $25 of glue for 4 square metres of vinyl. So you might need $75 of glue.

I paid $500 for my vinyl and installation in my bathroom and toilet. Bathroom is really small less than 1.5m x 1.5m and toilet is about 2.0m x 900cm. $500 was their min charge.
