My neighbour had taped a bit of cardboard over a broken window and when he replaced the glass the brown sticky part of the packing tape stayed stuck to the painted frame. Any ideas how to get it off without ruining the paint!

Desolvit will do the trick, I used it when we had a similar problem, worked a treat.
