Just planted flowers in VEGETABLE potting mix ? As I planted the last begonia and several other flower plants I realised I had been using theVegetable potting mix What can I do to correct the 'mixture' as I'm assuming I'll get lots of leafy growth and whimpy flowers ? |

Cuttings, what is a good mix, sand peat moss etc Does anyone know What's a good sand for growing cuttings in? Is mortar sand from a builders yard like placemakers the same as sand from say a garden centre ? Thanks for any help |

DIY potting mix If anyone makes their own I would appreciate knowing what they put in it. Also if anyone makes their own seed raising mix. Am finding the purchased potting mixes very poor quality nowadays. Thanks for any help. |

Roses and roundup don't mix Feeling pretty low at the moment, entered my garden in the garden competition this year, but have had to cancel as I have sprayed my roses yesterday with round up. |

Potting Mix Over last couple of years we've tried 2-3 different brands but none of them hold any moisture. Even at this time of year the mix will get bone dry within 24 hours. Any suggestions? Outside pots. |

Growing cucumber in tomato mix in pot? Does anyone know if a cucumber is OK in tomato mix, maybe with potting mix added? Are there any additives in tomato mix that cucs don't like! Just checking. Thanks |

Cheap potting mix now crap For many years I have used different brands of cheap potting mix adding fertilizer etc depending on what I am potting up. Used it as seeding sowing mix too and both have been successful. However the bags are now full of rubbish with lots of big wood chips... |
