I have sent out 7 quote requests and no answers. I am in Royal Oak Auckland and would someone to do the job They say roofers are the hardest to get Its a flat roof with easy access No cowboys.

Rang for a total re roof to be done had a pretty good idea what it would cost, only one firm bother to look and quote, and as near figure they got the job. Are roofers really that busy

Post it on nocowboys.co.nz - on the request a quote page - you list your job and they email all the people who can do it, everytime I have used it I usually have the opposite problem - like 30 people wanting to do the work- but choice is good!

Those no cowboys and builderscrack sites are the refuge of the tradies who get no word of mouth work. You need to target a firm who specialise in reroofing and you need to be prepared that the square metre rate will be higher than normal on a small job. Also you will need edge protection

Should be able to get edge protection for a double garage for around $600. I'm guessing the garage is 6x6. No way you roof that for $1000, likely to be more than 2k No point moaning, it's a modern day reality. We've dealt with it for long enough now.

What's the matter with the existing roof? If it's corrugated iron that's a little bit rusty, I just spray some zinc primer on and repaint. But not if the steel has rusted right through.
