Whats the minimum studheight if you fit out garage

I'm thinking of making my garage into a rumpus room as we have another garage,I measured my height from concrete floor to rafter and its 2.1metre. I'm in Waitakere, Auckland.

I used to be a Spatial Designer. Auckland City minimum apartment standards: 2.4 m It just feels depressing with a ceiling any lower than that. 2.7 m would be ideal.

If it is a skyline or similar garage, just remember the trusses werent designed to carry a ceiling.

the other thing is condensation control. is there any building paper etc under the roof? if not your ceiling will just get soaking wet.

Many years ago I worked on the new offices for the Chch Police dog handlers section . at that time there still a mimimum height requirement to be in the force . the stud height in the offices was 2.1mtrs . pretty insane huh
