Pvc pipe wall thickness for under concrete drive?

Hi guys,

Just curious what wall thickness of PVC pipe you would use under a concrete driveway? Pretty sure the standard 80mm diameter PVC downpipe wouldn't hold up under the weight of concrete. Have also seen on here there are pipes with wall thicknesses of up to 10mm, how thick is enough without going overboard?

I'm looking at running at least a 50mm internal diameter pipe to allow for future lawn irrigation pipe & maybe wiring for landscape lighting.

cheers!

Once the driveway is down it isn't going to matter.

Dig a trench across the driveway or get it thrusted around 450mm deep and it's not going to get crushed at all. Back fill with fines or sand around the pipe then add the gap20 on top.

Downpipe is ok for the load that gravity fed rain from the roof supplies, in other words-- not much. Sure it would probably be OK, but why risk it.

Any pressure rated pipe will suffice. 50mm waterpipe would be plenty. There are fittings available for whatever you want to connect to at each end.

the catch with the different pipes is how to connect to whatever your connecting to, as they are slightly different sized.
the big thing is what the pipe sits on.
