Has anyone used these on their log fire if so what are they like? Do they really burn longer and give out extra heat.

Last time I saw briquettes I'm pretty sure they had coal in them, which makes them unsuitable for use in a woodfire. They definitely burn hotter than most wood.

The compressed sawdust ones burn differently to normal wood. Normally a smaller flame but should burn a lot longer. This is due to the density of compression, not air cell pockets. Could well be hotter than most wood, as has to be around 10% moisture (or less) content to compress properly.

I recently bought a box to try. free freight and 24 bricks I think, they do last longer and the heat was good. I was just trying them as next year I may not have the access to wood I had for this season. I love my wood burner.
