I'm just stripping some wallpaper of some gib ready to paint. I'm just wondering do i need to get any remaining glue residue off and if so how?
Wallpaper has come off well and now the gib is dry it look clean but if i spray it with water there is still a bit of slippery glue there.
Don't want to damage the gib by getting them too wet. But want the paint to work so need to know if i need to prep more before i paint.

Hiya Sand walls, apply a coat of Pigmented Sealer. :-)

Rinse with a wet sponge or mop and yes, light sand when dry.
Btw, are you sure the Gib joints are taped ? Any cracks ? Check on joints above and below windows and above doorways for sign of cracks.

You may have to tape & set the joints, then pole sand the complete walls & use a pigmented sealer, that will seal any old glue residue.

All the joins in between the gib seem to be taped and plastered including corners and nails. Is that what to mean
