Can pulses and beans cross pollinate?

Hi, I want to put in mung beans and brown lentils (which are sprouted and 15ch high already and just need to go in).I have lots of beans, bush and climbing.
Can anyone tell me if I can place both pulses in close proximity to each other or the beans, or should the mung beans have a dedicated area, likewise the brown lentils.I do not want any cross pollination going on if it can be avoided.

i looked it up in my copy of Seed to Seed for you. it says mung beans are very unlikely to cross pollinate as they are self pollinating before they fully open. lentils are also self pollinating and not attractive to bees so you should be able to grow these without risk of crossing. I have had instances of climbing beans crossing with each other if grown very close. runner bean varieties will cross with each other, but not with other kinds of beans. hope this helps

How hard is it to grow lentils! wouldn't mind giving it a go!

you would need a huge paddockful to really make it worthwhile growing lentils, but would have novelty value I suppose
