Listen to this guy,he knows stuff and one thing I have found in life is you don't play short cuts with electricity, it kills , burns and takes no prisoners.

Plumbers ----- although they are allowed to connect to existing wiring they are putting in new HWC s & they now have a 3 KW element & its causing problems in older houses with low rated wiring /switches & fuses . Been to several this month a few had loose terminals a well .

Plumbers still need Associated Trade registration to do the electrical connection. Those that have it shouldn't be cocking up.

I'm pretty sure elect70 knows that. I'm guessing he was talking about problems when authorised plumbers do the connection.

I would guess they don't take much notice of different element sizes or switch ratings.
