removing paint from exterior windows. help? can i use paint stripper to do this? someone suggested to me that this was a bad idea as when i paint it will not 'stick properly" alternatively i have a hand sander unit. can i use this?

How much paint are we talking about - is it a couple of specks or what? Photo would be good. Any solvent would probably not do the rubber seals, aluminium frames much good.

as long as you wash the stripper residue let it dry and sand down before painting it wont be a problem. Painter stripper has been around a long time and is used to strip entire house before repainting

always found a razor blade holding type scraper the best, as long as careful to keep blade flat, to avoid scratch's. Change blade before it is too blunt, or the extra force needed can cause you to lose control of blade.

If you are talking wooden windows then it is always good to allow a small line of paint to overlap the glass as it helps to seal and prevent water entering and rotting timber.
