Putting up new light shades but hole too big.

joro4us, Oct 8, 4:34pm
I have purchased some light fitting and the whole to fit onto the lights is too big. I have tried a plastic adapter but these don't work and the fitting then will not screw on. ANy ideas.
Thanks

Can you post a photo?
Do you mean that the hole is too big in the light shade?

In the past with big holes in glass shades I have gone to a lighting shop and they have sold me an aluminum disc with the correct sized hole to put inside the shade. Works well.

Yes if glass then they usually have stepped adapter. More info / photos.

Do you mean light shades or recessed lamps?

I mean light shades. These are metal shades

Those adapter discs with a smaller hole would fit into metal shades. See your local lighting shop

See post 3. Purchase them from an electrical wholesaler.
