Want to decorate it with something. thinking large unusual pieces of driftwood as I have a beach theme going on. how would I fix it to the wall best ? Thanks

Concrete Lag screws for big pieces and rawl plugs for smaller pieces, depending on size and weight of driftwood.

Thanks :) I have no idea what a concrete lag screw is BUT at least I can go to Bunnings and know what to ask for lol

Just wondering if it is a good idea, from allowing the wall to dry out after wet weather, point of view?
Perhaps an air gap between wall and driftwood would be wise.

That sounds sensible and something I didn't think of. So I would want a kind of bracket from which to hang the wood from ?

or fix some 50 mm battens to wall, and just nail wood to them perhaps.

just fix the wood to the wall. by the tone of the thread if battens are used they need sealing between wall and batten, then battens will need painting

Agree, i would paint back of battens with tank seal or similar.
