While they are not on the national accord for banned plants, they could well be within the next 5 years. They are already banned from auckland north

Aggapanthus are difficult to remove. I reccommend cutting the flowers heads off. This will at least stop the seeds spreading nearby. They do seed very easily and each plant can grow a root ball 1m x 1m. I challenge peope who like them to try and dig (a mature plant) up! Really this is the only option I know of removing the plant. The mini aggapanthus could be grown instead.
