Bunnings or Mitre 10 have uv stabilised plastic sheet sold in rolls. It's used for covering growing tunnels and greenhouses - but it's not completely transparent. I've seen completely transparent plastic sheet sold off the roll at Pararubber. I think it's used for covering outdoor furniture.

Mitre 10 have heavy plastics range right up to one thats about 1mm thick
