Chimney flue

Going to have a new Woodsman Tasman woodburner installed. Does anyone have any thoughts on the various types of flue available, eg single, double shield, spiroloc etc. Pros and cons? Many thanks

If you can, get an eco flue, which draws the air for combustion from outside and does not create a cold incoming draft in your house. Also, I don't know about the woodsman, but its best to have a fire with an air circulating fan in it to really get the best heat out of it.

thats not the eco flue, thats the external air intake some models have.
debatable usefulness and with some models its not sealed to the fireplace so it creates a permanent draft.

eco flue has no air flow from the room going up between the flue and roof protector (forgotten proper name of it). so it reduces heat loss from the room.

Thanks for those thoughts daryl and tweake.

Anyone else know anything about chimney flues? Is the spiroloc best?
