Lagging? for oven cable

susievb, Dec 1, 12:13pm
I am painting behind my oven, and I see the thick heavy oven cable has scratched the wall behind the oven, to prevent and more scratches can I wrap/lag the cable? what would be best?

Ps this is in a 1960's brick unit, the metal cable is stiff and ribbed.

Are you referring to an outer flexible metal conduit which protects the actual cable to the oven. ?

Yes just not sure on right term.

If it has been there since the 1960's (at least 40 years now) I wouldn't worry about a few scratches on the wallt this time.

If you are worried about it just wrap a layer of insulation tape around the conduit. Will last another 40 years.
