Lock power bar / spindle for exterior door

extrayda, Mar 1, 3:07pm
The power bar (square profile steel bar that joins inner and outer door handles) on my garage door has broken (weakened by a past attempted break in I think). Easy fix, just need a new one.
It's ~105mm long and 7mm square.
Bunnings / Mitre 10 sell them, but only shorter versions, or Nylon (no good for exterior door).
One of the local locksmiths look possible, but would have to wait until Monday.
Does anyone know anywhere local (North Shore) that would have them?
Ideally open on Sundays (probably dreaming with that one), but even just during the week, in case the Locksmith I have details of doesn't stock them.
Thanks!
Mark

You might find key steel available at bunnings /mitre 10, otherwise engineers supplies or workshop.

I used to get odd bits like that from our local demolition place, they had a binful of bits and pieces like that.

Thanks, ended up going to a local locksmiths, she knew what it was, had a rummage around out the back and found me the identical part - all for $14, which I was much happier with that having to buy a whole handle set just to get that one bit. 5 minutes and it's all back together and working better than ever. Great when it's a cheap fix !
