Absolutely awesome. Come on Aukland Council, wake up, greener city would be most welcome, getting people out there meeting their neighbours, providing food and pretty flowers.
Council dont want to mow berms anyway so why not. Would look a lot better than the long grass and weeds.

I have seen vegetables planted on council land somewhere , or was it in a shopping mall, as an alternative to flowers. It was very attractive

I've seen rainbow chard on islands in the middle of Lambton Quay. Not for eating though.

There were complaints about "vegetables" (rainbow chard, ornamental kale and parsley for borders) planted in Auckland gardens this year, I heard that the council won't be planting them again, which is a shame.
Since the public registrations are closed, you must have an invite from a current member to be able to register and post in this thread.
