Try bleach, if that does not work try a mild acid like vinegar. suggest that you test these on a small area before going wholesale.

Bleach should be best, vinegar is an acid and will attack the alkaline stone.

they are porus so will absorb water and grow mould inside they need to be sealed somenhow to stop repeat offending

If its in a garden you may well kill any plants if you apply bleach or wet and forget.
