Seed viability?

susievb, Mar 20, 10:52pm
Hi, I got some tui mustard seeds to do a green manure crop over winter. Unlike other household size seed packets it does not have a best before seed date of when to plant by.

There is no identification as to lot number or any other way to identify the seed bag from last years, to next years.

I have emailed tui and asked how long the seeds will stay viable to plant (as I have small garden so will not use all the packet up, and I have 2 packets.) As yet no reply from tui.

How long would you say the seeds will last!

Use what you need and give the rest away to a friend .Get them to buy the seed next year.So the cosmic cycle of sustainable blah blah blah contiues.

The viability of the seeds will decline over time, accelerated with poor storage eg. Too hot, too damp. Etc. good luck!
