http://www.gardengrow.co.nz/ Quite a good little website although i would double check the region they say you are. According to them i'm a sutropical climate (Whangarei) and should be able to grow capsicum and stuff like that now, good luck with that I say, we may not get the frosts like they say but it just doesnt stay warm enough over winter to do that. maybe if i had a plastic house :-)

thanks. I want to start planning winter garden but Im not sure with this drought we have in Northland. Will wait til after that I think

Where are you destiny! I didnt think it was to bad here in Whangarei. We've had far worse, 3! summers ago no rain for a very long time. We got all that rain at xmas, occasional rain since then,and the last week we've had rain/showers 3 nights wed night we had a good lot just as i went to sleep. of course it never lasts long, still had to water some seedlings and the stuff in pots yesterday.
