Yup, house across the road fell through twice for it recently.Think about it, the sort of people who put up a shed without worrying about the rules probably don't think they need a plumber to install a bathroom or a sparky to rewire the house. quote]

Thats a huge leap of reasoning.

Well actually if your reusing existing pipework and not adding any additional sanitary fittings you dont need a plumber for a bathroom remodel. Also if your just relining existing walls with a wet wall linings you dont need consent or a LPB.

Drains are also at 600 deep and small ground slab for a shed would be 100 thick with no strip footings or edge thickenings. So whats 600 - 100! 500 of space between you slab and drain sure your going to hit that if you accidently dig down 100 inches instead of mm.

OP doint take advice via the internet on consents is ALWAYS wrong.

As you are on god terms with your neighbours it would be a good and friendly thing to do to tell them what you would like to do. You mentioned a wall if it is made of permanent materials then your building(shed) will not cause any degradation of that wall by being close to it. If the 'wall' is actually a wooden fence or similar then that could be a problem. If your neighbour is ok with the shed close to the "wall" then make sure that the water off the roof does not go towards the neighbour, that could ruin a friendship. Nothing about this shed should be permanent other wise it has to comply with construction standards/best practices. Go to it be a kiwi .

thank you all for your advice! We will probably tell the neighbours our intention and explain height size etc and hopefully they will be okay.Almost out of sight to them . It's going onto existing concrete in a back courtyard.
