Ideas for planting in a pot please

My husband gave me a lovely wine red pot and I don't know what to plant in it. It's square, about 600mm tall, small at the bottom and much wider at the top. I plan to put it on some paving in a sunny area. I prefer plants that flower and I thought that something with sort of lime green leaves would look good, but am completely stuck for ideas. Oh, I don't like flaxes.

Acacia Limelight. Awesome in a pot. Google images to have a look. Very easy care, drought resistant. Only pests mine have had are a caterpillar that joins th leaves together and scale, both easy to fix.

Just looked it up, love the colour and seems to be fairly hardy. Any idea how tall it grows!

Put brick or stones in bottom to stop it tipping over.
