They should be in the garden Centres in the next week, if not already.

Easy to plant , plant soon and they flower around Sept in Auckland

Points up but if you are not sure plant them on their sides, they find their way up . I plant them in March,

rule of the thumb -- plant all bulbs twice the depth of their size

Most the ones I had split babies off very often so it was worth digging them up at the end of a season to give them more room.
I think there's a general rule with bulbs; once the leaves start to die back you can rip em out.

Down here mine were the first bulbs to flower after daffodils.

Also the whitest and creamest ones almost always have a gorgeous smell, some of the supermarket ones do not even though they are very flashy.

The old, short stemmed ones smell best.

I have some of the old fashioned white ones that smell divine, they seem to grow like a weed and currently are living in a very coarse mixture of gravel,my nana had them in her garden at the beach for years and despite trying to reduce the numbers they fought back!

I have the old fashioned ones and they smell devine. The coloured ones dont seem to smell. Plays havoc with my hay fever but I still plant them :)
