St George Ovens NZ Agent? Oven door won't shut

Family member has a St George oven with a right hand hinged door that won't close, because the roller catch in the side frame of the oven has failed.
We have one ridiculous price for a new catch ($350) but is there a cheaper or better option?
The door looks like it is reversible so what are the chances that there is already a catch on the other side beneath the hinging support frame?

My other thought was to purchase some neodymium magnets and glue? these to the door or frame to hold the door closed magnetically.

Images attached of door lock, locking pin and oven sticker.

I think it would be worth checking for a catch on the other side if you are capable of doing it yourself, or take the old one out to identify the exact part that may be exchanged with a roller catch from a hardware store.
A google search shows that St George hails from Australia, you may be able to contact a service company there that could supply the part.
The magnets may work and would be relatively inexpensive in contrast to the quote for a catch.

Pic of it here on this link, including one you can rotate & see all sides. You may find something at Mitre 10 or Bunnings that can be adapted. Check what it looks like here. http://spares.bigwarehouse.com.au/product_info.php?cPath=81612_81613_101438&products_id=1769422

Did you notice the price?
$176 for a frigging roller catch!

I agree with you, I would be trying to adapt something else!

Bet it is made in a far off asian country. A bit of digging on the web may well unearth the manufacturer and probably able to buy 100 of them for about 5 bucks.

Yes I agree. Way over priced. Just looks like the cupboard door catches sold in the hardware stores for a few dollars. If op takes the old one out they may be able to match up something similar or repair the old one.

I assume the oven has to come out then the outer casing? i can see that the roller catch is screwed in from the front.
