I am having a similar problem with tomatoes & was told it could be magnesium deficiency, and to apply magnesium sulphate. Quoted "with magnesium deficiency large areas of leaf become necrotic. A further feature distinguishing magnesium deficiency from other disorders is that the symptoms do not usually appear in the field until mid to late season".
