Hi. After a few years of getting only a taste of or no plums, I have 3 trees that I need to protect from birds. Two small, one big. Does anyone know the best type of netting and maybe a cost effective place to buy it? Thanks.
Bunnings sell a white netting that should do what you want. I have used this successfully on my strawberries However whether you can have better access to the fruit than the birds is another matter.

when I was in Australia a few year ago I spotted a dinky way they had to keep the net off trees to make it easier to put the net on and off they had used hoops of alkathene pipe over the tree from the ground right over quite big fruit trees thought it was a good idea keeping parrots from stealing fruit they said that it was quite easy to push up as slid on the alkathene was anchored at the bottom in steel spike smaller than the diameter of the pipe
