Might be better to wait until the end of the year. I read somewhere that Tesla batteries were going to be available - they have capacity to store energy from solar panels but I'm not sure whether they are available yet. I thought the article said they were going to be available in NZ by end of the year.

Thanks. Im pretty sure they will design the batteries to be able to be fitted onto existing setups as long as you have a big enough inverter?

Can highly recommend John Veix of Solar Elect Spec, based in Rolleston. Google for contact details. Semi-retired, very thorough and knowledgeable, with many yrs experience. Has been the organiser behind many of the Solar Expos I think.
