I got a left hand and right hand bracket, what is the official term for this product? http://postimg.org/gallery/fgltbmrq/

Looks like a Cyclone Tie, but they usually don't have one end pre-bent like that though.

Not a cyclone tie.Never seen one of these but it looks like it supports one end of a length of timber similar to a joist hanger but smaller.

Try googling lumberlock and going through their product list

Its not a stock item from either Lumberlok or Pryda. Its either a custom made twist strap or from an overseas supplier, such as Simpson Strong tie or similar. It will be for hold down rather than support.

Could it be a roofing bracket for a particular type of (tray?) roof?

I have being googling all day and night for this thing and can't find anything online.

I think it is a Lumberlok cyclone tie that has been custom bent for some particular use.
