Hey all.I have just uncovered some rimu timberwork in my house that has been painted white. Is there a paint stripper that I can apply that will not damage the wood.I intend to polyurethane the timber once stripped.Did the sanding thing but took a long time and near to impossible to remove all paint due to the finish on the frame.TIA.

I would use any stripper, then rinse afterwards.and sand when dry.

painstripper will also not remove all traces of paint. you will have to take the wood back with a commercial sander until all traces are gone. Some job.

Sweet.I thought that some might damage the wood. Will give it a go on a not too obvious piece.

Did a house lot of rimu doors, frames & skirting with Coopers. Came up really well & didn't involve hard sanding.
