We have theses at work and unfortunately they are becoming a pest, seeding and coming up everywhere, but I did enjoy eating them as a kid.

I have googled and found it is called wineberry, wine raspberry, and it is a member of the rose family but an escapee from Japan and has a tendency to become invasive. Rubus phoenicolasius.

You lucky thing, we lived on them as kids roaming the roads on horseback and they were so yummy!
They used to grow on the side of a bank near us a few years ago but they were right next to a main road and industrial sites and I chose not to eat those ones. I'd love to cultivate them in the garden with other berry fruits, though.
